The prosecutors are subjected improper interference and inluence by parties, lawyers, judges, state bodies, organized crime and nepotism. Furthermore, the efforts of the prosecution office to contribute to justice in pthe society falls behind citizen's expectations. These are some of the conclusions in an independant research concerning the prosecution during the first four years of the Prosecutor General's term of office. It is titled "Prosecutorial Reform Index" and it is carried out by the American Bar Association and the Bulgarian Institute for Legal Initiatives.
