Wednesday 27.Jul.2011

Club "Objective" asked the following questions: Is there a crisis in the management model of the judiciary and which is the fundamental problem? Could the Supreme Judicial Council be a subject to reform? How could the politicization of its members' election be avoided? Is it appropriate for prosecutors to make career decisions about judges? Are amendments in the Constitution and the legislation needed?

The answers were given by: Galina Toneva - Deputy Prosecutor General, Bilyana Gyaurova - Wegertseder from the Bulgarian Institute for Legal Initiatives, Vesislava Ivanova - judge from the SCC, member of the Bulgarian Judges Association, Mihail Mikov - member of the parliamentary Legal Commission.
