Grozdan Iliev was Elected for a Justice at the Constitutional Court

With 117 votes in his favor, 11 against and 2 abstained of 130 voted, the present Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court of Cassation was elected for  a justice at the Constitutional Court by the parliamentary quota. There were no debates on his candidacy at the National Assembly. After the voting judge Iliev  said before journalists that a significant part of his career have past before 1989. He also stated that he will not take part in a discrediting war, and clearly there are not any facts for any kind of implicit commitment.

Judge Iliev sent today his answers to the Questionnaire to the Constitutional Court nominees, formulated by BILI in a relation with the Transparent Judicial Appointments Initiative. The prepared profile and the questionnaire remained the only civic participation in this procedure.
