0n December 10, The “Professional Ethics and Prevention of the Corruption” Committee at the Supreme Judicial Council will execute preliminary hearing of the three Prosecutor General Nominees. Candidates for the post are the current deputy Prosecutor General: Ms Galina Toneva, Mr Sotir Tsatsarov: Head of Plovdiv Regional Court and Mr Borislav Sarafov: Head of Appellate Specialized Prosecution Office.
One of the “promised” questions, which is about to be asked is whether any of them is a member of a mason lodge. Ms Sonya Naydenova, who is officially representing the Council explained that all questions submitted to date will be asked, including those from media publications and signals filed in the administration of the SJC. SJC has even appointed an expert of its administration, who is making a daily review of press publications on the subject, said Ms Naydenova. Information on possible membership has appeared in the media for Mr Tsatsarov.
The interview with him is expected to be the longest one.
The Ethics Committee will require reports also from the National Audit Office, National Revenue Agency, Notary Association and the Bar Council to compare the data with the announcements in their property declarations.
