Legalworld.bg: Nikolay Kokinov Wants to Resign as a Magistrate

After the resealed recordings of conversation between Nikolay Kokinov (Head of the Sofia City Prosecution Office), Boyko Borisov (former Prime Minister) and Miroslav Naydenov (former Minister of agriculture and food) and the followed scandal, Kokinov resigned as Head of the Porsecution Office. But he also wants to resign as a magistrate and leave the system of judiciary. The information was announced by the Prosecutor General, who personally came to the Supreme Judicial Council to find out if there is such a request actually filed in.

However, by law a magistrate in a pending disciplinary proceeding may not be dismissed. There is another disciplinary proceeding pending against Kokinov regarding the violation of the random case assignment principle in Sofia City Prosecution Office. Read the full article in Bulgarian here.
