In this interview Mr Tsatsarov is discussing the development of the Bulgarian Prosecution so far and what lies ahead in the future. “Awakening” of the investigation services, completion of the structural reform and active participation of the Bulgarian Prosecution during the debates and processes of establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office are his priorities for 2014 (EPPO*). The Prosecutor General also reveals information about the newly established specialized joint teams between the Prosecution and the State Agency for National Security (SANS). They will be examining all cases against judges, prosecutors and investigators. The composition of the unit so far includes 3 prosecutors from Sofia City Prosecutor's Office and agents from the specialized unit at SANS "Combating Corruption in the judiciary", 3 investigators will also support the joint teams’ expertise.

*The EPPO will be an independent Union body with the authority to investigate and prosecute EU-fraud and other crimes affecting the Union's financial interests. The establishment of the EPPO will bring about substantial change in the way the Union's financial interests are protected. It will combine European and national law-enforcement efforts in a unified, seamless and efficient approach to counter EU-fraud.
