As a result of the instantaneous reaction of BILI to mobilize the civil sector, the EC responded on a press briefing today that the Commission has received the latter and it follows very carefully the on-going procedure, its position being more than clear that “such nominations are to be undertaken fully respecting transparency and the integrity of the process”.
The spokesperson of the European Commission, Mr. Marc Gray ascertained that the EC has recently sent a letter highlighting the same issues to the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice. The prospective actions in relation to the appointment of inspectors will very likely find place in the wording of the next Interim Report in the context of the Coordination and Verification Mechanism. He reassured the press that when it comes to nomination procedures the Commission follows the process “very closely” and are fully aware of the procedures.
