Hristo Ivanov Commented the Appointments Procedure of Inspectors to the ISJC in BNR Broadcast

"The appointments procedure of judicial inspectors to the ISJC is shrouded in silence, uncertainty and disturbing haste.", commented Hristo Ivanov in an interview with Silvia Velikova and Tanya Milusheva for the "Before all" BNR broadcast.

He also noted that there isn’t any perfect mechanism, allowing the most qualified and independent candidates “to be placed on the hills of the judiciary”: There aren’t any perfect mechanisms, but there is a common sense. And it leads to the conclusion that when someone is in charge to make a certain choice in public interest, some specific questions regarding the professional competence shall be asked to that somebody,( i.e. to the nominees for inspectors to the Inspectorate to the Supreme Judicial Council). Unfortunately, there is an existing temptation for the public interest to be bargained for private benefit. Therefore, citizens shall see how these questions are asked and also ask their representatives – why are you silent? We insist that to happen in Bulgaria.
